Today, I am – Determined

Welcome to the second post on my positivity series. If you want to know what this series is about you can read about it here.

“To work hard towards a goal, to not give up, to give it your best shot is determination.” – This Scribbler Mum

“Aargh! No no. It’s bad enough that I might have a stomach bug but for my knee to be sore too!

And it’s raining again?! Typical. Just when you thought everything is going to be all ‘happy sunshine’, it all gets taken away.

It’s like everything is going against everything that I want to accomplish today.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

It could be worse. But it’s not.

So what if it’s a little bit rainy again? At least there’s no drought. So what if my tummy is somewhat irritable? I can use a little bit of fasting. So what if my knee is a little sore? I just need to stretch a little bit and take my time walking and enjoy the scenery for once.

Today, I am determined.

I am determined to get up and wobble my way to getting everybody ready for the day. I am determined to make the beds, wash the dishes and tidy up any mess. I am determined to get myself tidy too and face the day. I am determined to take my baby to the nearby library for some rhythm and rhyme fun. I am determined to go outside with my family so that our little girl can ride her new bike. I am determined to enjoy our day out despite the freezing cold. I am determined to get some work done early enough so I can binge watch Netflix before going to bed.

Today, I am determined to not let any small hindrance set me back from what I want to accomplish today. Today, I am determined to have a positive attitude despite the gloomy weather.”

Sometimes even though the tasks we need to do are just regular things, a minor setback can throw us off just because we are not in the right mindset. A dose of a positive word to focus on for the day, can sometimes make a difference to save us from ruining our plans for the day.

  1. Love this! I really struggle with my depression and I have to use all my determination to do all the little things like unloading the dishwasher or going for a walk. I always feel better when I do manage to do the simpler things. You’re right in that a smaller setback can really impact your mindset. A little positivity goes a long way. #thursdayteam

  2. Being positive is great way to have a mindset. It’s so easy to get in a non mood so being determined is good. Hope you achieved all you set out to do but don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t because you can try again tomorrow. ‪Thank you for linking up to the #familyfunlinky‬

  3. That’s what it comes down to! Having the right mindset. Sometimes though things just has to be done, then the right mindset would follow when doing something. With me, then I’m all about energy. Not physical energy, but I’m talking energy as in my mood. I’m always striving to be on that higher frequency where I feel postive. It doesn’t always happen every day, but I strive for it as much as I can. It’s good for the overall health. Thanks for sharing this 😊
