Review of My First Photo Book from Photobox

Babies love looking at family photos as much as they like looking at picture books. But how to let their tiny little hands explore through family photos without tearing or getting the printed photos dirty? Photobox has a solution and we think it’s a fab idea!

“Moments pass by so quickly with every tick of the clock. Turn back time to the special moments by taking lots of photographs.” – This Scribbler Mum

My girls both love looking through our family photo albums. My nearly 5 year old is very careful and knows how to take good care of our pictures but our 1 year old? Let’s just say there is a reason why the appropriate books for toddlers are board books.

I know. It is the digital age now and you can browse hundreds of photos or books using phones, tablets, PCs, etc. But there is just something about turning the physical pages of books that is very interesting and special. So, when I have been presented with the chance of reviewing Photobox’s My First Photo Book I immediately took it.

If you are not familiar with Photobox, it is an online photo printing company where you can create personalized items or gifts such as mugs, calendars, key rings, wall art and more using your own photographs.

As mentioned before, for this review we have been given the chance to try their new My First Photo Book. A photo album designed for babies under 3 in mind. It is a 13.7 x 13.7 cm board book with 16 super-thick, wipe-clean pages and rounded corners.

To make it, simply go to Menu > Photo Books > My First Photo Book in the Photobox website then click Create now. Upload your photos and drag them to the page of your book that you want them on. Choose the page layout for each page and write texts if possible (texts can also be personalized). Select the background colour. Or, if you want a super quick process, just let Photobox do it all for you automatically after uploading your photos. And that’s it! You’re done!

It arrives pretty quickly too! For us, it only took approximately 5 days with standard delivery.

Verdict? We love it! It is well made. The pages are really thick and easy to clean. The pictures look good (but of course this highly depends on the quality of the photos that you upload). It’s very easy to create on the website. The only thing that I would like to note here is that the part of the photo that you want to show should fit in a square. It would be easy to zoom in on an image but if your photo is not square, parts of the image may be cut off even if you are totally zoomed out. To remedy this, I added borders or made a collage to make my photos square before uploading.

And of course, most importantly, both my kids love looking at this photo book. Because of the thick pages, my 1 year old can easily go through the photos by herself and I don’t have to worry about it getting ruined easily even if she goes through the book over and over. It’s a great way to introduce little ones to cherishing wonderful memories.

If you are looking for a great gift idea, I think this one is fab not just for babies but for pretty much anyone who will enjoy looking back at special moments.
