We bought a stand mixer (finally!) and love how it makes baking so much easier! We’ve had it for a couple of months now so here is what I think about our Kenwood MultiOne Stand Mixer.

Before I dive into my review, here’s a quick unboxing video for a general overview of my current favourite kitchen item – the Kenwood MultiOne KHH300WH Stand Mixer.
I am not a professional baker but I love baking as much as I love enjoying a delicious dessert. As I learn how to make my favourite cakes and pastries, my confidence grows as well. But I also realized that an electric hand mixer (though very useful) will no longer be enough as I go further on my baking journey. Hence, we have decided to purchase a stand mixer. Fortunately for us, when we went on Amazon to shop for one, we found this Kenwood MultiOne stand mixer on offer. It was half the normal price and since my hubby has already had the chance to use a Kenwood stand mixer before and liked it, it was a no brainer that this was what we would buy.
As I mentioned in the video, this mixer is a stand mixer and a food processor in one. As a stand mixer, it comes with a metal bowl, splashguard cover, balloon whisk, beater and spiral dough hook. As a food processor, it comes with the container, regular blade, juicer and three other blade attachments. Additionally, it also comes with a spatula for scraping.
The stand mixer itself has one control dial (pulse / continuous at multiple different speeds) used for both mixing and processing food. This simple dial makes it so easy to use. I also like the fact that even though the attachments are easily attached or removed, there is a safety feature wherein unless the attachments are on correctly, the machine will not work.
One thing that I wasn’t sure about when using a stand mixer was how it would be able to mix everything in the bowl properly. When using a hand mixer, you can easily move the whisk around so you can get even the stuff on the side of the bowl. This was not an issue with this stand mixer because the whisk (or whatever attachment you are using) is not spinning in one static position. It actually rotates around the bowl as it spins. I’m not saying that you absolutely won’t have to scrape the side of the bowl but you’ll only have to do so once or twice if ever.
The stand mixer is quite sturdy. It’s heavy enough that it sits quite stable when in use (plus it has suctions at the bottom to keep it steady) but not too heavy so it’s easy to move it around when needed. I think it’s quite a space saver too. Considering that it is a mixer and food processor in one, it is not too bulky.
The food processor works quite well. We’ve used it a few times to make fresh coleslaw and it really helps get it done in no time. Making pastry base is also quicker now for me. Baking is a lot easier and faster now too that I don’t have to mix and pour at the same time. Plus, the mixtures come out far better especially when making meringues or buttercream. The spiral dough hook is also amazing as it makes making dough a lot easier, faster, less messy and less workout for my arms (hah!).
Cleaning is also easy because it does not involve too many different parts and the attachments are not too fiddly. The unit itself is easily cleaned with a quick wipe and there aren’t to many areas where dirt or food can get stuck in. Additionally, the splashguard cover works so well that there aren’t much splashes in the surrounding areas that need to be cleaned.
If there is one thing that I wish is better about this machine is that I wish it was a bit quieter… But then again, it’s not louder than my hand mixer anyway so, that’s that.
