Drawing My Children’s Book

“Drawing is a form of expression where anything is possible.” – This Scribbler Mum

I’ve always been a creative person but I never really tried doing anything with it until I had my first child. I started my YouTube channels K’s Mum and K’s Toys because I find editing videos fun and satisfying when I’m done. As I thought about content, particularly for K’s Toys, I realised that I enjoy coming up with short stories for kids and creating visuals for them. Little did I know that I would be trying my hand at self-publishing my own books as well.

I am an amateur illustrator but because I want my book to be all mine, I decided to draw my own books. I still have a lot to go in terms of learning how to draw like a professional but I am actually enjoying myself whenever I am able to translate what I am imagining onto paper. Not only that, it is also a great way to spend quality time with my kids because they always join me when they see that I am using my pencil and sketch pad. And when they finally see the actual book, their amazement and excitement are priceless.

As a little preview of my latest children’s book Spotty & Doodles Wander and Wonder, here’s a video of when I was working on the illustrations for the book. I hope you enjoy it and please subscribe, like and share. 😊

  1. I would love to be able to draw, but alas havr no talent for that. Your kids are going to be very proud of you when they get older.
