Welcome to my third positivity post! If you’re new to this series, you can find my previous post here.
When something else happens or may happen, it throws you off. You may get overly too excited, too nervous, too worried, annoyed, disappointed and so on. So, how do you deal?
“A calm mind is a clear mind. A clear mind is a proper thinker.” – This Scribbler Mum
Speaking for myself – if I’m faced with a new situation whether good or bad, strong emotions take over. This is normal. However, if I let those strong emotions linger for longer than necessary, then it can affect how I would react or handle everything else that comes my way that day.
If it results in a more positive outcome, that’s brilliant! But what if not?
Negative emotions could lead me to respond incorrectly to circumstances that could have been good and waste opportunities. I could end up turning small setbacks into bigger ones because of snap decisions.
Being overly eager from too much excitement might result in disappointment. Just like how having a sugar rush can bring you crashing down.
This week has been a little different so far. A lot of things have been going on, bringing me multiple different emotions all at the same time. So how do I deal? I focus on being calm.
Much like a good sleep at night gives you a whole new perspective on things in the morning. Because when you sleep, you’re calm.
When I am calm, I have a clearer mind. When I am calm, I am more focused. When I am calm, common sense does not leave me. When I am calm, I can solve problems. When I am calm, I can deal better.
By practicing calmness I was able to do a lot. I was able to focus more on the brighter side of things. I was able to realize that there’s a way around to what I thought was an obstacle. I was able to concentrate and produce a creative work. I was able to have a good day.
Today, I am – calm.

I have had such a busy weekend and felt quite overwhelmed. I tried calming down, writing lists and prioritising which in turn made me more calm. Thanks for linking up with #stayclassymama

This is such a great word for the day and it is something I know I need more of. Life is far from calm but I often think it is me causing that. Today I plan to be more clam too. Thank you for linking up to #ThursdayTeam

I find it hard to be calm. I’m always on the go and life never seems calm and quiet. Although, I should be practicing calm more often. Great advice! #globalblogging

This is a great strategy to have in our daily lives. Yesterday I got decided that I was going to rearrange my room. I had a vision of what I was going to do by my bed is big and my room is fairly small. Plus, having a dresser, book shelf, desk, and TV all in the small space, I wasn’t succeeding. By the end of the day the only thing that had changed was now my room was messier than it was before and my bed was in a bad spot to where I couldn’t move anything else. I was exhausted and stressed out. Thankfully, after nearly exploding my ex-husband was coming over to take the kids out to dinner. He stayed and helped me figure it out, which was really great! I was calm again within 20 minutes and later on I decided to meditate so that I could keep my calm and relax after such a long and stressful day. Because I know that when I’m calm, my kids are calm and my world is less chaotic:) #GlobalBlogging

Oh yes, what a lovely positive post. I love a bit of calmness and you’re right. A bit of mania can send things spiraling so it’s always best to take a big deep breath, take in some calm and the world is a better place (sometimes). Thanks for linking up to #fortheloveofBLOG x

Calm is definitely something I am lacking. The emotions always take over and I always see the worse. This is something I need to change.

Being calm is something I have been working on this past week as I know that when I’m not I over-react to everything. Whenever I feel myself getting worked up and try and remind myself to stay calm and take a few deep breaths before acting.

Great concept and well put into practice. I find I need to be organised to be calm. So I have to start a lot sooner in preparing myself these days to maintain the calm. #dreamteam
